What do you love about the British

every people deserve a poet, every poet deserves a people

They are like an onion  
Not much to look at
Tough to process
Have made me cry a lot
But with patience, you strip the layers 
and their tender cores improve 
anything you add them to
Without ever overpowering it.
I know people are suspicious of me for it,
But this is why
I always carry a knife around them.

Greeks have this joke
When our ancestors were building the 
Parthenon
The rest of Europe was living in caves.
When the idiot world is biting into the Brits 
like apples,
I look at them
And turn down the heat.
Give them ten more minutes.
They, most certainly,
Deserve their own soup.
