Apples and Oranges! (From my Big Fat Greek Wedding) or Onions and Apples (Tsantekidou poem). My favourite Brit of all time is George Michael, a bit Greek (actually Greek Cypriot), a bit Brit and with a huge, kind heart! And he gave a big break to Geri Spice. Fun poem, not sure about the knife analogy there. In reference to the knife/gang crime or just the cooking. I need to read it over.

also that’s a great movie, basically a documentary in my opinion

Documentary is exactly the right word!

George was fantastic, but for me Bowie as the English Gent of that era.

Bowie!!! He was an amazing artist and singer and writer. Slightly earlier than George! They’re both heroes! We could be heroes just for one day!

Have lived on 3 continents and Brits are BY VERY FAR the funniest, most creative people to live among. Japan is wonderful for its culture kept in aspic but Brits keep tearing down and starting again....

Awww that’s so nice to hear, they have more fans! They have been really talked down lately

Great, I was still a teen in Greece 15 years ago so don’t remember much.

They ARE nice to look at, and wonderful to read, and they run through my blood. I don't think I love them, though. I respect them.

My favorite Brits are Charles Darwin, Lewis Carroll, Nancy Mitford, Lily James and Michael Gambon

We may not be the prettiest or the most open but we provide sustenance.

Don't forget George Orwell and Shakespear.

It's true we were living in mud huts whilst the Greeks built the Parthenon. An amazing achievement....maybe took a rest on your laurels since then. ;)

(rest on your laurels

idiom

to be satisfied with your achievements and not to make an effort to do anything else)

and yes, you most certainly provide sustenance, intellectual at the very least

aah Steve, you don’t need to explain English idioms to me, I may sound very foreign, but the English language was my first teenage love and, as a result, is etched in my brain neurons. I love a good idiom, and probably use them too much too.

Very clever poem, thanks Stella. Our qualities are being very fair, very compassionate, queuing happily, sense of humour and stiff upper lip when required, common sense (apart from most politicians!) and sense of fun xx

As a cultural Brit with majority Greek blood, this speaks to me.

Not too sure about "Brits" because you never know their true origin. I much prefer the English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 if only because God is English and he created England.

By the way Stella, very sexy picture, you definitely add a touch of spice to the British flag 🇬🇧 😍👌👍

But also.... I believe you have our flag upside down!?
